Number One

No wardrobe would be complete without the little black dress, our go to for so many occasions! Works dinner, date, drinks with friends, the list is endless. The LBD is a blank canvas that can be dressed up and accessorised to suit any occasion, making it the perfect day to night item – http://www.bbc.co.uk/culture/story/20131209-the-dress-thats-always-in-style.

Two, Three and Four

Shoes, shoes, shoes. These three staples will have you covered for anything – high heeled pumps, slip on trainers and ballet flats. Imagine your number one item, the LBD, dressed up in high heels, dressed down in trainers or daytime flats. A great pair of leather heels can turn a basic dress into an outfit.

All three work well with number five on our list….

Jeans! Think dark wash that can be paired with a simple t-shirt or dressed up with a silk shirt and in your face jewellery. Reliable, versatile, what is not to love?

For colder weather pair with number six, a lovely warm sweater such as an Irish Merino wool sweater found here https://www.shamrockgift.com/irish-aran-fisherman-sweater. Team this piece of luxury with your denims and flats for an easy day look.

Numbers Seven

Every wardrobe needs whites. In the case of essentials, we all need a plain white t-shirt and a white button-down shirt. These can be worn with your jeans, keeping your need to purchase new clothing to a minimum, dressed up with jewellery or a patterned scarf.

Number eight

The day to night, warm weather, chilly afternoon, blazer. Invest in a blazer in a dark colour and it will last season after season. Use it to change an entire outfit from day to night, office to bar. These come in so many styles too – the fitted work blazer or the dressed down, sleeves rolled to the elbow casual blazer.

And finally…

No wardrobe would be complete without a gorgeous silk scarf and the right costume jewellery. These can change an entire outfit!
